Slovenia adopts the programme for the development of chips and semiconductors until 2030

March 24, 2026

With the adoption of the program, Slovenia is opening a new chapter with full momentum and setting an important milestone in the field of chip and semiconductor technology development.

The program not only responded to European initiatives within the framework of the European Chips Act, but also confirmed Slovenia’s long-standing successful work in the field of chips and semiconductor technologies, and recognized excellent Slovenian knowledge, research and entrepreneurship in this field.

CC-Chip.si partners, including the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in cooperation with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and companies, actively participated in shaping the guidelines of the Program. This further confirms that CC-Chip.si is not just one of the measures of the adopted program, but an important connecting and development pillar of the entire field.

The CC-Chip.si Competence Center is the first of the adopted program and represents one of the key foundations for achieving long-term goals and strengthening the role of Slovenian research knowledge and the industrial sphere in the European space and beyond.
